What is your relationship with Mother Earth?
Mother Earth is what I am composed of — she is me and beyond me. My teacher, my lover, my mother. She inspires and nourishes me — my body, my senses, my spirit — she is my faith and my religion.

Where or when do you feel most grounded and connected to yourself and nature?
I feel the most grounded and connected to myself and nature when I am with indigenous communities. No matter if it’s in the desert of West India, on a pilgrimage in Wirikuta, or in the sacred reservations of Santa Marta in Colombia, I feel the most myself when I am with them — communities who take care of the Earth and the Spirit. I feel the most grounded in the morning — to me, mornings are a sacred time — when our minds are yet to be cluttered by thoughts and responsibilities. I enjoy how we are soft, tender and more present in the morning time.
In what ways does the Earth inspire your creative work or the way you express yourself?
I believe that my creative work doesn’t belong to me, but I am — only a channel, a vessel of the Earth — where she expresses through me.

How has honouring your body’s natural cycles changed the way you live and create?
I used to not know how to listen to my body — I would instead tell my body to listen to me. Learning to listen to my body and be guided by her intuition is one of the most beautiful relationship of my life — a daily challenge, a never ending story that keeps realigning and deepening. As a woman, we have the blessing to be synced with the moon — not with the manmade Gregorian calendar but the true rhythm of the Earth — the animals, the plants, the livings.
We swim through lunar phases every few days, in this life, in this body, there is no choice but to surrender — and learn the emotions of each phase— each a different character of our story. Being a woman is learning to love and express all the different sides of you — just like our grandmother moon.
If you could speak to your younger self now, what would you tell her?
The magical and mystical world you dream of, exists. Step out of the system, walk carrying your heart, connect with Nature and you will find that the myths are living, breathing on this Earth at this moment. The Earth needs you to help her preserve her story, her rivers, her soil — be the vessel of creation.
