Just 20 minutes north of Byron Bay, nestled across 130 acres of rolling green land, The Owl & The Pussycat Farm Sanctuary is a non-profit, registered charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of farmed animals in need.
Built on compassion, ethical care, and second chances, the sanctuary offers something far deeper than a simple day away. It invites you into a gentler rhythm, where healing, connection, and conscious living feel deeply tangible.
There is something incredibly grounding about gathering in nature, away from the constant pace of life, and returning instead to simplicity, softness, and presence. These kinds of days remind us that sisterhood is nurtured through shared experiences, honest conversation, laughter, and quiet moments that allow us to reconnect.
At HARA, we have always believed in the importance of returning to what matters most. To the earth, to softness, and to rituals that reconnect us with ourselves and one another.
This day felt like an embodiment of those values.
The sanctuary itself is a place where vulnerable animals are offered safety, dignity, and healing, while visitors are invited to reflect on the importance of ethical care and living more consciously.
As we moved through the property, there was a quiet gratitude that seemed to settle over us. Gratitude for meaningful friendship, for nature, for spaces created with genuine care, and for the reminder that softness carries its own quiet strength.

We left feeling deeply restored by the beauty of slowing down, more connected to one another, and inspired by the powerful intersection of compassion, friendship, and gentle living.
It was a day that beautifully honored both the sanctuary’s mission and the enduring power of sisterhood, offering a meaningful reminder that some of life’s most nourishing experiences are often the simplest.
