Made in HARA.

Our vision is to have our whole supply chain in one country, one location.

At HARA we believe in transparent supply chains, ethical practices and supporting local economies.

All our products are naturally dyed, cut, sewn, packaged and shipped in Melbourne, Australia.

All employees work under the Australian Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Associated Industries Award 2010 which entitles them to the right to a living wage and ensure that wages for a normal work week, not including overtime, shall always meet at least legal or industry minimum standards. Wages shall be sufficient to meet the basic needs and to provide some discretionary income.

The TCF Award sets minimum hourly pay rates, which are reviewed annually by the federal wage setting body, the Fair Work Commission.

Ensuring our workplace is safe is one of your top priorities.

Things we take into account are adequate workplace lighting, seating, climate, floor coverings, hygiene, dining facilities, drinking water and toilet facilities.

Above the Australian Government requirements we also provide our staff:

  • Breaks during work hours whenever needed.
  • Time off whenever needed.
  • No interference with the exercise of their rights to observe tenets or practices or to meet needs relating to race, national or social origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, union membership, political opinions or any other condition that could give rise to discrimination.
  • We do not engage in or support discrimination in hiring, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on race, national or territorial or social origin, caste, birth, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, marital status, union membership, political opinions, age or any other condition that could give rise to discrimination.
  • A safe working relationship, where everyone feels appreciated and respected.
  • Fruit and snacks available at all times.

As a business in the fashion industry, we do not support:

  • The use of child labour
  • Withholding any part of an employee's salary, benefits, property or documents in order to force such employee to continue working
  • Forced labour

By manufacturing ourselves and owning our supply chain we are able to:

  • Reduce shipping miles which helps alleviate our dependence on fossil fuels, reduce air pollution and cut back on greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Create in house recycling systems.
  • Have full transparency in the whole supply chain.

By 2030, the climate impact of the apparel industry alone is forecast to nearly match today's total annual US greenhouse gas emissions, emitting 4.9 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
