Nia Thomas is the woman behind her small batch, artisanal brand which uses luxe natural fibres and plant dyes combined with high quality craftsmanship. After her few days on the coast with her favourite HARA pieces, we chatted to Nia about the Who & Why behind the brand…
How would you describe Nia Thomas and her passions in life?
I would describe myself as a free thinker, a hard worker and someone who isn’t afraid to indulge in life’s pleasures. My passions vary greatly— finding the best food truck tacos, the environment, film photography and learning are just a few.
What is fashion to you? What drew you to it?
Fashion is self expression. The freedom to pour how you feel into garments and wear them with confidence and energy. The fantasy and craftsmanship in the details is what draws me to fashion but the story behind the garments creation always intrigues me to want to learn more.
How do you maintain a healthy relationship with your passions and being?
Creating boundaries for sure. In order for me to truly enjoy life’s passions I have to give myself breaks from them so I don’t take them for granted or grow tired of them. Gratitude and balance is the key.
What’s your advice when it comes to believing in ourselves?
Trusting and believing in myself seems to be a lesson I am always re-learning. To trust in my gut feelings and believe that my spirit guides are protecting me are things that I have to remind myself daily. Although ultimately I believe, what I want wants me and the universe is always conspiring in my favour.

What makes you fall in love with life over and over again?
Love itself. Nature. Human connection. Tastes, smells, touch. The desire to want and be wanted.
Nia, we’re grateful for all that you are, and for being a part of this community. As we come to the end of this, are there any thoughts you’d like to share?
Thank you for seeing me. I am so grateful to be a part of your community and to experience this life wearing such soft and well intentioned clothes like Hara
